TO GO DEEPER
Resources
Books, talks, podcasts, prayers, and practical tools worth returning to.
Curated, not collected
This is not meant to become an endless library. These are resources worth returning to—chosen because they can help us pray, understand Scripture more deeply, grow in wisdom, care for people we love, and build practices that can actually be lived.
Some come from Catholic sources, some from the wider Christian tradition, and some from trusted practical organizations. Each is included for a particular reason.
Pray & Listen
Pray As You Go — Jesuits in Britain
A free daily guided prayer, usually about 10–13 minutes, combining Scripture, music and reflective questions. Especially helpful when you want assistance becoming still enough to pray without turning prayer into another lesson to complete.
Lectio 365
A free daily prayer app with morning, midday and night rhythms. You can read or listen, making it a helpful way to build prayer into real days rather than waiting for ideal conditions.
Scripture & Formation
USCCB Daily Readings
The daily Catholic Mass readings in one place, with audio and video available. A simple anchor for keeping prayer close to Scripture and the rhythm of the Church.
BibleProject
Free videos, podcasts and study resources that explore biblical themes, literary structure and Scripture as a unified story leading to Jesus. Helpful when a passage needs context rather than a quick answer.
Prayer & Discernment
The Daily Examen — Ignatian Spirituality
A prayerful way of looking back over the day with God—notice presence, gratitude, movement of the heart and where grace may be inviting a next step. Particularly useful for discernment.
Relationships & Responsibility
Establishing Clear Boundaries in Your Life — Focus on the Family
A practical Christian conversation about what belongs to us, what belongs to other people and what belongs to God. It pairs especially well with our Freedom & Responsibility pathway.
Formation & Practice
Practicing the Way
Free formation resources built around practices such as Sabbath, prayer, solitude and a Rule of Life. Useful when insight needs to become a rhythm rather than remain an idea.
Caregiving & Practical Support
Family Caregiver Alliance
Not a Christian ministry, but a strong practical resource for people carrying real caregiving responsibilities. Its guides and webinars address caregiver stress, support networks and more sustainable ways of caring.
A note about external resources
A resource is included here because something specific in it may be useful. Inclusion does not mean that Rooted for Real Life endorses every view or position of the person or organization that produced it. Read, listen and discern thoughtfully.
